Merry Christmas Snow Flurry Cards

I made these Christmas cards last year using two of my favourite colours in the Stampin' Up! colour range.

The colours I used were Island Indigo, Smoky Slate & Whisper White.  The DSP ( Designer Series Paper) used with these cards also matches the colours I used. The DSP paper was cut into banners of 3 for each card which I alternated, as the DSP paper has a pattern on both sides of the 12 x 12 Sheet. They were then placed on top of the back ground colour used.

Using the Snow Flurry bigz die I cut out all three shapes in Island Indigo and Smoky Slate and alternated the colours as you can see in the photo. In between one of Snow Flurry cut outs, I put a dimensional to give it height and effect. Lastly up the top I stamped the 'Merry Christmas' image from the Sassy Salutations stamp set on Whisper white in a 'Rock & Roll' technique, to give the effect of a two colour look. The stamp was then layered behind Smoky Slate and Island Indigo to give the card a finishing look.

Flower Shop Mother's Day Tag Card

This card was inspired from one I saw on Pintrest that really caught my eye.

The colors I used with both cards are Baked Brown Sugar & Whisper White, then a color of choice, which was Crisp Cantaloupe & Coastal Cabana. One of my many favourate stamp sets 'Flower Shop' was used in this card. I had no embossing folders with me when making this card at the time so I decided to create something similar.

Using the fancy writing background stamp, stamp the image using three Stampin! Up write markers in colors of choice, alternating the colours down the stamp image. With the 'Flower Shop' stamp set, I chose a flower and stamped three images, then punched them out using the Pansy Punch, then I placed them on top of the background stamp. I also stamped a different flower image on the inside of the card that is open, to mimic the position of the flowers on the top of the card. I then finished the card with the 'Happy Mother's Day' stamp from the 'Teeny Tiny Sentiments' stamp set on Whisper White. The stamp was then punched out using the Word Window punch and placed on top of Modern Label punch that was punched out in the color of your choice.

Making this card was different, interesting and fun. I have also made another cards with a similar style as these. Look for them in my coming posts.

Flower Shop 'Thinking Of You' Cards

Here is another sets of cards I have made using a color of your choice combined with whisper white to create a simple, pretty card.

The colors used here are Blushing Bride, Wisteria Wonder, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral & Pistachio Pudding. The 'flower shop' stamp set was used to do these flowers, with a different flower stamp used for each color. They were then punched out using the 'pansy punch'. Behind the flowers, I embossed the card stocks with the 'Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions' embossing folder. The three flowers were placed around the words 'Thinking of you' to bring the focal point to the centre of the card. The 'Thinking of You' was stamped using the Sassy Salutations stamp set on Whisper White, and then using the framlits Labels Collection size 1, were cut out using the big shot. The 'Thinking of You' was then backed up behind with the Labels Collection sizes 2 and 3.

I really like these 'Thinking of You' cards because they were easy and fun to make and they look pleasing to the eye.

Elegant Butterfly 'Thank You' Cards

Here are some examples of very easy and quick 'Thank You' cards to give to someone, just by using a color of your choice with whisper white to alternate.

I wanted to used Stampin' Up! 2013-2015 'In colors' which are Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Baked Brown Sugar & Pistachio Pudding.  The punches I used were Elegant Butterfly, Bitty Butterfly & Decorative Label which has a stamp image using the Positively Cheuron background stamp. The 'Thank You' image is from the Sassy Salutations stamp set.

I like these cards because they are quick, easy and are aesthetically pleasing to the eye. They are also a fun project for any stamping enthusiast.

Card Sketch Challenge - Freshly Made Sketches #130

Stampin' Shanni my friend and up line suggested that I do a web challenge this week. She referred me to Freshly Made Sketches and this week's challenge FMS 130. This is the sketch:

Here's my take:

I enjoyed making this card. The full story behind this card was my friend and up line suggested doing this card challenge so that I force myself to challenge my boundaries. I was excited and when I saw the sketch I thought it would be good to do.  I have never done a card challenge so I gave it a go.

The colors used with this card are smoky slate, daffodil delight & whisper white. The stamp sets used are Perfect Pennants and Tape It.

You can also see the daffodil delight that is mounted onto the smoky slate card I used the Stylish Stripes TIEF.  With the Tape It stamp set I stamp several different images using daffodil delight ink onto whisper white card and punched them out with the Banner Punch and mounted it on top of the ones punched out in smoky slate.

The stars (from Perfect Pennants) are stamped on daffodil delight and hand cut around them and mounted on whisper white card.  To finish the card I used the Banner Framelits in three consecutive rows to follow the flow of the colors used. I stamped the Whisper White with the image from Perfect Pennants in smoky slate and then mounted it with dimensionals.

The last thing was the star stamped on daffodil delight mounted on smoky slate. The smoky slate behind the star was hand cut to look like a border around the star.

This card will be uploaded to Freshly Made Sketches today!

Mosaic Madness Set of Cards

Hello again here is a sets of cards I made using the mosaic madness & sassy salutations stamp set.
The colors I used are crushed curry, inland indigo, old olive, blushing bride, soft sky, smoky slate, calypso coral & Whisper White.

Using only one monochromatic color for each card and having whisper white as a little contrast.
Then have the mosaic punch I punched out the stamp images mosaic on whisper white using the color that matches the card and placed then into a flower format. Then using the image stamp thank you stamp each card in there colors. I also lined the inside of the cards with whisper white.

These cards where quick and simple to make and took no time at all. Always give a thank you card  to people who have made a difference in your life.  Especially when there is always someone out there in your world to give a thank you card too. To see or even hear there excitement in there voice. Gives me so much happiness.

Stampin Shanni Retreat Challenge 2012

This card was made for Stampin Shanni Retreat 2012. The challenge was it had to be current products used and made as many cards for as many attendees coming.

The colors I used is real red, gumball green, whisper white & early espresso. Also a Christmas theme DSP(designer series paper)and out of the DSP I created a small rosette and punch out circles from the real red and gumball green to sit on top of the rosette.

The squares are punched out using the postage punch with white backed behind it and dauble with early espresso ink around the four sides. Placed on the piece of early espresso then on the gumball green which has been embossed using framed tulip embossing folder.

Before the rosette was added, two pendants with one on top of the other was put together and the whisper white on top I stamped it with merry Christmas stamp in real red with early espresso dauble around the edges.

I won the challenge with this card at retreat 2012 and it was my second time in a row that I had won this challenge. I was very excited indeed to have won.
